We build sustainable
As a company and employer, we take great care of our commitment to sustainability. With regard to our new building, it is a top priority for us to take various actions to reduce our CO2 footprint. We are working on a variety of concepts to operate our buildings more efficiently in the future, to save and use resources more wisely, and to create a working environment for our employees where they feel comfortable and where aspects related to health are treated as a priority. We are aware of our responsibility today and act for the generation of tomorrow.
Certification according to LEED®
Our new building unique is certified according to LEED®. LEED® (Leadership Energy and Environmental Design) was founded by the US Green Building Council, a non-profit organisation based in the USA. The development of this certification focused on the following goals:
LEED® defines high-quality, ecological construction for healthier, environmentally friendlier and more profitable buildings and is based on a rating system that rewards the implementation of defined sustainability aspects with the award of points (also called credits).
The individual sustainability requirements of LEED® certification are associated with the higher-leveld sustainability categories, which in turn are subject to tasks, obligations, standards, norms and guidelines to be observed:
LEED® Certification process
During the certification process, our new building unique will go through four phases:
Certification levels
In total, four certification levels can be achieved. With our new building unique, we are striving for the LEED Platinum Level. The decisive factor for this is the number of points achieved in the LEED Construction Phase, which determines the level and thus the quality of the certification.
What do we do for sustainable construction?
In each of the sustainability categories mentioned, there are different measures in relation to our new building unique. To name a few of the defined sustainability aspects for unique
Reduction of the ecological balance of the building
Provision of long and short term bicycle parking spaces
Preservation and protection of an explicit proportion of the existing green space on the site
Sustainable rainwater management
Waste recycling on-site
Use of renewable energies
Equipping individually used areas with individual lighting controls
Construction and demolition materials management
Sustainability category construction process and orderly deconstruction of the former architectural office of Aldoplan AG
Within the sustainability category of building process, we focus on the topic of construction and deconstruction waste management, among other things, in connection with our new building unique. We already carried out an orderly deconstruction of the former Aldoplan AG office building. The building, which was at the end of its life cycle, is a valuable raw material for the recycling of building materials.
Our partner Josef Küttel AG developed a concept for this deconstruction that separates the building rubble and the various construction wastes from each other and then returns them to the recycling cycle in a material-friendly manner.
The Inside story of the Josef Küttel AG shows the process of the deconstruction.
