As a Swiss innovation company, we will achieve net zero emissions along the entire value chain (Scope 1-3) by 2050.

Shuttle warehouse roof as an energy supplier

Production energy thanks to photovoltaic system

With the construction of the shuttle warehouse in 2019, a photovoltaic system was installed on its roof that covers 10% of Thermoplan's entire electricity requirements at its headquarters in Weggis. In 2021 alone, it produced enough energy to charge 2,600 electric cars.

In practice

  • The energy generated since the installation of the PV system in 2019 could be used to charge 6,300 electric cars
  • PV system saved > 557,000 lb of CO2 emissions in 2021

Facts & figures

  • Setup of a photovoltaic system during the construction of the shuttle warehouse in 2019
  • 558 panels installed with a total power of 150 kWp
  • 2,600 electric cars can be charged in one year with the PV system alone (2021)

Free e-charging stations for employees

Free e-charging stations for employees

In the Thermoplan underground parking garage, not only free parking spaces are now available, but also charging stations.

Charging stations for electric cars have been available to employees in the Thermoplan underground parking garage since July 2022. There are 25 pre-installed stations offering connections for cars as well as e-bikes. The installations were financed by our CO2 funds. We are currently compensating for our air travel, and the measures are being continuously expanded.

In practice

  • In the future, with the help of additional CO2 funds, we will also act in the spirit of sustainability outside Thermoplan: by planting trees in suitable locations, financing better filters in incineration plants, providing gas stoves instead of wood-burning stoves in developing countries and many more.

Facts & figures

  • Free for employees
  • Saved 2,260 kWh in one month (equivalent to about 28 full Tesla charges or 37 full electric charges)
  • To date, one employee car purchase due to new charging option
  • Stations are continuously being expanded
