In the restaurant industry, the office, or institutional food service, every minute counts. That’s why Thermoplan relies on a unique modular system that makes service and maintenance work particularly efficient. All the basic functions of our fully automatic coffee machines are consolidated into just two central units: the mechanical module and the hydraulic module.

Thanks to this well-thought-out modular design, entire modules can be replaced in no time at all. This minimizes downtime and gets your coffee machine back up and running quickly. For businesses with high coffee consumption, this means maximum operational reliability and consistently high beverage quality.

Maintenance of our Black&White4 fully automatic coffee machines is performed directly on the individual modules. A complete module replacement can be carried out in just a few minutes, causing virtually no disruption to ongoing operations. At the same time, we are continuously refining our modular system to make service processes even faster and more efficient.

Black&White4 and Black&White4 compact

In the innovative Black&White4 and Black&White4 compact models, all basic functions are combined exclusively in the two modules: the mechanical module and the hydraulic module. The clever arrangement of all parts requiring maintenance on these two units greatly minimizes service requirements. In addition, the mechanical and hydraulic modules of the Black&White4 are equipped with a chip for electronic identification. In combination with our ThermoplanConnect telemetry system, they can thus be tracked and managed.

Mechanical Module

The heart of the mechanical module is the brew chamber, which measures 50 mm in diameter on the Black&White4. The larger diameter allows significantly more flavor compounds to be extracted during brewing. In addition, the higher dose capacity of up to 25 grams enables the preparation of high-dose double or triple shots. Each beverage can be individually adjusted for optimal flavor by modifying the water temperature and the temperature of the mobile piston. The built-in vibration damping ensures a pleasant noise level during brewing on both machine models. 

Hydraulic Module

The Black&White4’s hydraulic module stands out thanks to its dual boiler system, which opens up new possibilities for preparing coffee, tea, and milk. The two independent boilers for coffee, hot water, and milk allow for greater flexibility in beverage temperature. This means you can enjoy any beverage of your choice with warm or cold milk, so nothing stands in the way of the perfectly prepared drink. The Black&White4 compact, on the other hand, uses a single boiler to heat coffee and tea. It also features a built-in coil system for warming milk. A powerful water pump and increased flow rate ensure the perfect espresso experience.

Instead of inspecting and repairing individual components on site, the service technician replaces the affected module. This allows the machine to be back in operation quickly, while the module is repaired off-site.

1. Service needs are identified

The machine provides early notification of upcoming maintenance or service work directly on the display.

4. Quick module replacement on site

The affected modules will be replaced on-site. The entire process usually takes only about 15 to 30 minutes.

5. Immediate Restart

Once the part has been replaced, the machine is immediately ready for use again. This prevents long downtimes and lost revenue.

6. Sustainable Processing

The removed modules are taken to the workshop by the service technician or overhauled and inspected on site.
