Is the machine suitable for self-service?

Yes, the machine has a self-service mode with a clearly guided user interface and can be optionally equipped with a payment system.

How many cups per day is the Black&White4 compact designed for?

For a daily requirement of approx. 50 to 150 cups per day.

How compact is the Black&White4 compact really?

With a width of only around 228 mm (comparable to DIN A4), it is extremely space-saving and fits on almost any counter.

Technical functions and daily operation
How is the machine operated?

It is operated via a 7" touch display with capacitive touch technology, is intuitive and requires no barista knowledge.

How is the machine cleaned?

System cleaning is started manually via the display and then runs automatically. The process is shown on the display and takes place via a closed cleaning system with tablets. Two cleaning keys (red for coffee, blue for milk) are used to simplify the process. In addition, an automatic hygiene rinse ensures clean coffee and milk lines.

Are there digital functions?

The machine is telemetry-capable via ThermoplanConnect and enables the monitoring of machine or fleet data in real time.

Are there different operating modes?

Yes, different user levels are available, including a self-service mode and a barista mode with advanced functions such as queue management.

Drinks & milk system
What drinks can the machine prepare?

Depending on the configuration: coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato, tea and optional chocolate and syrup drinks.

Does the Black&White4 compact support milk alternatives?

Yes, the machine supports different milk types and alternatives. Optionally, two different types of milk can be used at the same time, whereby the temperature and consistency can be set individually for each drink.

Is there an integrated cooling unit?

Yes, different cooling solutions are available depending on the configuration:

  • RL (integrated cooling unit)
    In the RL versions, an integrated 9-liter refrigerator is built directly into the machine. It enables the use of up to two types of milk.
  • UT (under-counter cooling solution / external cooling unit)
    As an alternative solution, a separate refrigerator can be used, which is placed next to or under the work surface. The milk is fed to the machine via hoses.
Can drinks be customized?

Yes, drinks can be individually configured in terms of milk quantity, milk texture, temperature and other parameters.

Options & configuration
Is the machine modular?

Yes, the machine is based on the modular system 2.0, in which the main functions are divided into mechanical and hydraulic modules. This simplifies maintenance and service and enables clear traceability of the modules.

Does the machine support cashless payment?

Yes, it can be equipped with an integrated payment module for contactless and digital payment methods.

Can the design be customized?

Yes, in addition to the standard version in Alunox, special colors according to RAL code are also available on request.

What is the difference between the Black&White4 compact and the Black&White4?

The Black&White4 compact is designed for a low to medium daily requirement of approx. 50-150 cups per day and impresses with its particularly compact design and small footprint. It is particularly suitable for small to medium-sized businesses such as bakeries, cafés, offices and catering areas as well as hotels and petrol stations.

The Black&White4 is designed for a medium to high daily requirement of approx. 120-500 cups per day. It is designed for higher output requirements and is typically used in busy establishments such as larger restaurants, fast food chains, hotels or heavily used self-service areas.
