Mobility Project Recap

As part of the KV Mobility Projects run by the KV Luzern Vocational School, Amena, Boris and Gjon gained valuable experience abroad. For several weeks, they stepped out of their comfort zone and immersed themselves in new cultures, languages and working environments.

Amena completed a three-week work placement at a company in Bangkok, Thailand. She got to know various departments – from sales and accounting to HR – and gained fascinating insights into an international working environment. At the same time, she was able to put her English skills into practice in her day-to-day work and experience Thai culture first-hand.

During his three-week work placement at Thermoplan Germany in Hockenheim, Boris gained valuable practical experience across the entire value chain – from office-based work and technical training to customer visits, service calls and working with factory representatives.

Gjon spent a language study trip in Nice, France, where he was able to significantly improve his French language skills in class and in everyday life, whilst also getting to know French culture and the Côte d’Azur.

Personal Highlights:

Amena – Bangkok, Thailand
“The internship showed me how valuable it is to think outside the box and take on new challenges.”
Amena was particularly impressed by the openness of her colleagues, the diverse insights into various areas of the company, and the opportunity to experience a new culture and grow personally.

Boris – Hockenheim, Germany
“The three weeks in Hockenheim flew by as fast as a race around the track.”
For Boris, it was particularly valuable to experience firsthand the collaboration with customers, partners, and plant representatives. This gave him a comprehensive understanding of the processes from product to customer.

Gjon – Nice, France
“It was a great feeling to realize how I could apply what I’d learned right away and become more and more confident.”
His highlight was using the French language not only in class but also in everyday life. The international encounters and exploring the Côte d’Azur made the stay an unforgettable experience.

All three apprentices continued to develop both professionally and personally during their stays. New ways of working, languages, cultures, and encounters broadened their horizons and made the mobility projects a valuable experience during their training at Thermoplan.

We are proud of Amena, Boris, and Gjon and look forward to seeing how they apply the experiences from their mobility projects to the rest of their training and their future careers.
